Why The KHAN'S Can Never Give Us A Baahubali

It was a fine Sunday afternoon... I was doing the usual... NOTHING! Just lying on the couch like a rock! Surfing the channels...

I got like over 600 of them... Thanks to Videocon D2H (Platinum HD)..

As usual, none of the 600 were of any substance. I had to turn back to the love of my life... YouTube & Netflix!

Now I was split with choice... It was like 60 million videos as against 600 channels!

I played something.. God knows what!!... It played... Ended... Something else started.

This went on for sometime. Finally, there was Baahubali in a language that I did not understand. Probably Telugu.

I did not understand a word of it, but still watched the entire thing without blinking.

By the evening, I questioned myself... I had so many options.. Why did I get hooked onto this movie.. In a language that I did not understand?

There is something about Bahubali (not about Mary)...

Prabhas has managed to become a household name across India, irrespective of dialect. Some call him Amarendra... Some call him Mahendra!

It then got me thinking , why do we not have a the hindi film Industry giving us such memorable opuses.

At the most we remember Amar Prem from Andaz Apna Apna... And Rahul, naam to suna hi hoga!

Probably because they were Khans... Industry leaders...

But even these Industry leaders have failed to give us our Bahubali moment.

There has to be a very solid reason for that. The Khans have been ruling for more tha. 2 decades now. They should have atleast one movie comparable to Rajamouli's Magnum opus.

In my view, some of the reasons might be:

1. Twinkle Twinkle too big stars!

The Khans are too big stars to think of working for a director from down south. Especially someone who demands 100% of their professional time. The Khans are the most bankable stars in the industry. They cannot afford to block years of their life working on a single project. It's not only a loss to them, but to the entire industry. They cannot take the risk of people signing them off saying "time poora ho gaya iska"...

2. No one wants to be the Troy!

Apparently, the role for Bahubali was offered to Hrithik Roshan. This might be a rumor! But HRX is known for such rumors (Remember Rang De Basanti).

In our industry, it is common for people to move to the south or bhojpuri counterparts, if things don't work out well. The Khans cannot risk that rumor! In days people will start speculating and spreading rumors.

3. Producer hai ke maanta nahi...

Yes, you read that right!

Our hindi film producers just believe in one formulae :

Khan + Big Budget + Foreign locales + Arijit Singh + Glycerine...

Garnished with some comedy scenes and a coupple of Cameos...

They Will never want to try something new, for the fear of losses.

If they have the Actor signed for them for 5 years they will make 5 movies, numerous promotions, 100's of ad's, Radio Shows, Merchandise... And lots more.

For them, its all about the money honey!

4. Just for Audacity...

Its only the south film industry that can atually show the human version of Angry Birds on screen... And get away with it...

For Bollywood Khans, it is something they will not want to do! Its just not believeablee to their fans.

The overall scale and grandeur of the movie itself was beyond Bollywood.

5. The Khans are NOT PRABHAS and Bollywod does not have RAJAMOULI

Yes... The Khan's are Not Prabhas... He gave 5 years of his life... Completely to Baahubali.. No other movies, No Other Commitments, No Ads... Nothing at All.

Bollywood has too big egos. The Stars and the Directors never share this camaraderie.

Page 3 is abuzz with news of Fallouts.


Those are probably the reasons Bollywood and the Khans can never come up with a Baahubali.

However, Baahubali has created a new benchmark for all...

Lets see who will be the first to give a 1000cr movie
